Yesterday was a football game, and we also had marching band pictures afterschool, so I just stayed there instead of going home. Forgot to record Reunion (The O.C. I have set for series recording, so it doesn't matter if I forget it's airing), so I guess I'll just try to find a torrent later. Or see if they're planning on reairing it anytime in the next week.

School crap from yesterday and today. )

...nothing else to say, really. I guess now I'll attempt to catch up on my friends' list. I'm a bit afraid, though, seeing as after a normal school day plus marching band, it's like skip=120 to skip=160, so after missing a whole day plus school? eep. Then I'll watch The O.C. and post about it if I have anything to say.

So, it turns out that George Bush pre-empted Reunion with some sort of speech, so it didn't air anywhere. Unfortunately, for some reason my DVR player didn't record The O.C. (or that night's The Daily Show ep. Makes me think that I just ran out of room in my saved shows, so it couldn't save them), so I had to download that. But that didn't take too long.

The O.C. )

If you haven't heard, Governor Schwarzenegger had this bill or something passed banning soda being sold in high schools, in addition to other fatty and sugar-y things. I'd get pissed off about this, except for two things: A) It doesn't go into effect until July 2007, and that's right after I graduate, so it doesn't affect me in the slightest. B) Even if it did affect me now, I rarely buy soda at school anyways, usually water (and they'll obviously still be selling that), and more days than not my mom lets me take the car to school, so I could just go off-campus and get soda/junk food anyways. I feel kind of bad for the lower grades, though, but eh. The intention of him doing this is actually good, but it's going to be pointless. Well, I don't know about other schools, but seeing as we can go off-campus during lunch (well, with parent permission, but most people get it, and they don't really check your ID cards to make sure you have permission), we can get junk food and soda anyways. If people are that desperate for it, they'll get it anyways. And a lot of high school students have jobs, and their own money, so they can just get soda and junk after school. I mean, he's all "I want to root out obesity and unhealthiness early" but... well, this isn't going to solve that. Meh, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it working. Too many ways to easily get around it.
