Oh my god. They played "Everything is Alright" by Motion City Soundtrack on KROQ today as the Catch of the Day. I'm really torn about this. On one hand it's good because they're a great band and they deserve all the exposure they can get. On the other hand... I don't want them to become this huge band that everyone knows about and become overexposed and so on. But being all possessive of them is ridiculous because just because I heard about them first doesn't mean I deserve to be a fan more than anyone else does. I'm still unsure about this, though.

Anyways. So, [livejournal.com profile] beaute__exquise asked for people to give music recs. I went totally overboard and uploaded a bunch of songs and I figured I'd post them all here since there were so many (and it was kind of a waste to upload all those for only one person) to give everyone else an oppurtunity to download the songs.

Motion City Soundtrack
-The Future Freaks Me Out
-Everything is Alright
-Time Turned Fragile

-Seventy Times Seven

Something Corporate

The Weakerthans

Alkaline Trio

-We've Had Enough
-Sadie

Not necessary to comment if you download them (though it'd be nice so I can see if people are actually downloading the songs and which ones they like). I won't be reuploading them if they run out (though I don't really imagine that many people are going to download them).

Also, got the SAT diagnostic scores from last night back. Well, I got a 730 in math which is 10 down from last week, but I'm still incredibly satisfied with it. Especially since I got every single question right in one of the sections and only one wrong in another. ...of course, I got 4 wrong in the first, but... still. I'm satisfied with that. I got a 670 reading which is a 50 point jump from last week, but still 20 points down from my best (which was the very first test I took - go figure). Still, our teacher like had... conferences about our scores with us after the 3rd test and on that one I had a 680 and he said that a 680 was actually a really strong reading score and it's not easy to crack a 700 on the reading, so... I'm satisfied with getting a 670. Especially after last week's 620. But on the writing... I got an 8 on the essay. What the hell? I got a 9 on the first and 12 on the other three tests and then I've done really well in all the practice essays in class and gotten between a 10 and a 12 on those. And all of a sudden an 8? They just wrote "Good effort. Try to make an over-the-top conclusion next time." It's not different than any of my other conclusions. asl;kd this pisses me off. I got a 77 on the grammar which is like amazingly high and I was figuring I'd do as well as I've done on the past 3 tests on the essay, but now this. It adds up to a 2110, but... blah. I'm still upset about this. Stupid SAT scores.

Lastly, a meme. I figured since I did my 20 saddest (well, it said most emotional, but I went for saddest) TV moments, I should do my happiest moments. Again, in no particular order except by fandom and order of episodes in each fandom.

1. Everwood - Where the Heart Is - Bright finally tells Hannah how he feels

Oh, man. They were one of the only reasons I kept watching through season 3. God. With Bright almost backing down, and then saying "Wait... no, wait," and then the "Oh, man. Ugh," and just kissing her. [dies] That moment made me so freaking unbelievably happy.

2. Dawson's Creek - True Love - Joey tells Pacey she loves him

These two were the only reason I found Dawson's Creek worth watching (well, eh, the second season wasn't too bad. I liked Pacey/Andie all right). When Joey finally chased after Pacey and told him that she loved him, I just couldn't stop grinning. It was awesome.

3. Dawson's Creek - ...Must Come to an End - Joey chooses Pacey

As I said, only reason for me to even watch Dawson's Creek. I was so afraid going into the finale that they'd go with a Dawson/Joey ending (I can't think of a single pairing I hate as much as Dawson/Joey), but when the camera panned out and it was Pacey with her, I was just... completely ecstatic.

4. Arrested Development - Righteous Brothers - Maeby kisses George Michael

Oh, come on. This was fucking awesome. I mean, I never expected this to happen. Sure, they kissed in the Pilot, but I never thought they'd have an actual on-purpose kiss, you know? So I found this insanely awesome and was totally excited that it happened.

5. Wonderfalls - Caged Bird - Mahandra and Aaron kiss in front of Aaron's family

Aw, this was so sweet. I really liked the couple and I was glad that Mahandra finally became comfortable enough to reveal their relationship to Aaron's family. And how shooken up she was over Jaye being held hostage and Aaron comforting her and kissing her in front of everyone... awwww. I loved it.

6. Wonderfalls - Caged Bird - Jaye and Eric end up together, finally

When I got the DVDs for Wonderfall, I had either scene or read the script for every single episode up to the finale. So, when I finally had made my way to the finale, I was completely freaked out all the way through the episode that Jaye and Eric wouldn't get back together. So when, at the very last moment, Eric kissed Jaye, I was just... guh. So excited. If the show had to end in so few episodes, at least it had a happy ending, and I was glad.

7. Felicity - Felicity Was Here - Ben kisses Felicity

Guh. First time I watched Felicity I preferred Noel, but after rewatching the series once or twice, I totally fell in love with Ben. And this kiss is just... amazing. One of my favorite kisses of any TV show ever and I totally forgot about it when I was doing that top 5 kisses meme but geez, this is just... amazing. I love this scene, it's absolutely perfect.

8. Gilmore Girls - Love, Daisies, and Troubadours - Rory tells Dean she loves him

Ok, so I really dislike Dean (have since season 2, really, but moreso than ever in the end of season 4/all of season 5), but I did like him during season 1, and I adored this moment. Rory's frustration and desperation and final "Because I love you, you idiot!" was just awesome. I adored that moment when it first aired, and even now that I'm not so fond of Dean, I still love it.

9. Gilmore Girls - Raincoats and Recipes - Lorelai and Luke finally kiss

Because I waited for 4 long seasons for this to happen, and when it finally did, it was awesome.

10. Angel - Not Fade Away - Connor comes to help Angel

"Come on. You drop by for a cup of coffee, and the world's not ending? Please." Hee. I always liked Connor and the realtionship between him and Angel, but I loved even more once Connor got a normal family and... I don't know. I love their interaction in Origin and at the end how Connor lets on that he knows Angel is his dad, and then this episode. It's awesome. And then the "They'll destroy you," and Angel's "As long as you're ok, they can't." Totally sappy and cheesy and all, but I totally love it anyways. I just love how... I mean, Connor meant everything to Angel and he never showed any compassion or love for Angel at all (he trapped him in a box and dumped him in the bottom of the ocean!), and... now, in the finale episode, Angel finally gets that love from Connor.

11. Buffy - The Prom - Buffy wins the Class Protector award

Man, I don't know how it's possible not to love this moment. I nearly start tearing up (...um, out of happiness) just thinking about it. It's just... man, Buffy's been protecting everyone for so many years and it always seems like no one's aware of it, but finally, in the end, they are, and they're grateful. It's just... I don't know how to describe it. It just makes me feel so warm and happy inside.

12. Buffy - Graduation Day Pt. II - all of Buffy's class has weapons to defeat the Master

This one is along the same lines as the previous one. I love it because Buffy's class comes together to help her defeat the Mayor. It's just such a... heartwarming moment.

13. Queer as Folk - 122 - Brian shows up to Justin's prom

Brian Kinney gives a shit! awwww. The arrival of Brian and the dance and the kiss always make me squee and grin so much that I nearly forget the pain and angst that immediately follow.

14. Queer as Folk - 308 - Justin gets some balls

I also really love the last scene, where they officially get back together, but... man is this scene even more awesome. Brian saying "That is so like you. You don't hear what you want so you leave. Try standing up for yourself for a change, have some balls!" and Justin... getting some balls and fucking kissing Brian right then and there. sigh. I adore that moment.

15. Queer as Folk - 510 - Brian finally tells Justin that he loves him

Crappy image, I know. But anyways. Man, this was so awesome. I knew it was coming because I was spoiled, but I still grinned and squeed like a freak over it. Finally, finally Brian was able to admit that he loved Justin. And I love Justin's little gasp in reaction to it, too, like Brian just punched him in the stomach. It's awesome.

16. Veronica Mars - The Wrath of Con - Logan's video about Lilly and smile at Veronica

This was the moment that made me start leaning towards a Veronica/Logan relationship. It showed another side of Logan, probably more what he was like before Lilly's death, and that he could be kind/thankful to people. Plus, the video itself is awesome, and seeing all those moments of Lilly just... they help you to realize how important she was to Logan and Veronica and Duncan and everyone.

17. Veronica Mars - Weapons of Class Destruction - Logan kisses Veronica

Man, this was such a "Hell fucking yeah!" moment. I knew it was coming because I was spoiled for it, but I thought the kiss was just Veronica's little peck on the side of Logan's mouth. So, when Logan got that look in his eye and fucking spun her back around and kissed her like he did... geez. I thought my heart was going to burst. I couldn't stop grinning for a full hour after the show ended, seriously.

18. Veronica Mars - Hot Dogs - Logan tells Veronica that he's moving on from Lilly's death

This, unlike their first kiss, I was completely unspoiled for. I remember freaking out for a good hour before the episode aired about whether they would address the kiss or it would be forgotten, whether they'd decide it was a mistake or decide they enjoyed kissing each other and would like to do it a lot more. So, when Logan started his speech to Veronica and then said "Helps me feel less guilty," and Veronica was all "Guilty about what?" and Logan said "Moving on," and then moved forward to kiss her, I was just like... going insane with happiness. It was just fucking awesome. I totally memorized the entire conversation, too, and during AP US during the like... lulls in the lecture (my teacher would go off topic or tell some related story that would definitely not be on the test so I didn't have to pay attention) I'd totally copy down the conversation in my notebook and squee over it. Hee, my AP US notebook is so awesome. I can tell what episode of VM just aired and when the next episode would because I'd write down how many days and hours till the next episode. ...yeah, so, suffice it to say, I was a bit obsessed with this scene. I still totally love it. Man, now I want to watch it again.

19. Veronica Mars - A Trip to the Dentist - Logan tells everyone that Veronica's his girlfriend

I was spoiled for the party and them all catching Veronica and Logan, but not for how Logan and Veronica would react to it. So when Logan told Dick he was dead to him and called Veronica his girlfriend (and hee - "head to the rectangle with the knob"), I just about died.

20. Veronica Mars - Leave it to Beaver - Keith is Veronica's dad

I adore the Keith/Veronica relationship, so when he turned out to be her dad, I just... guh. It made me so freaking happy. Especially how Veronica signed the papers immediately. Not a moment of hesitation. She knew exactly what it'd mean, and she didn't care. And then how Keith's all "You know what you just signed away? Nothing. Absolutely nothing." Man. Awesome. One of my favorite moments of the series.

I kind of find it interesting how this compares to the gut-wrenching moments one. I mean, nearly half of my sad ones were Buffy, but only 2 of my happy ones are Buffy. I actually tried to think of more, but I couldn't come up with any. Well, Buffy was always good at absolutely ripping my heart to shreds.

Edit: Hee! I love that 11 of these are kisses, and only 4 are completely non-ship related. Guess that shows what makes makes me happy. ;)

Yeah, I know. I'm like... totally split. Because I also hate people when they're all "OMG I liked such and so band first it's not fair that everyone else likes them now too!" but at the same time... that's my first reaction. Plus, I don't want them to be on so much that I get sick of them, because that happens way too often. So, bleh. But they haven't played MCS that I've heard since then, so they may not be played anymore. Few Catch of the Day songs are played repeatedly after being Catch of the Days.

Haha, yes. Happy B/J moments are love.
