So, I didn't end up going to the football game. I got to the school at like 5:15 and the call time was 5:30, and I started to feel sick. I've been feeling sick on and off all week, and I just really didn't see myself going through a whole show and playing in the stands and so on. I stood around for awhile trying to decide if I should ask my mom if I could go home or not, and I ended up getting more time than I should've, because the buses were supposed to be at the school at 5:30, and by 6:00, they still weren't there. Finally around 6:00 I told my mom I wasn't feeling well and so we went home. I took a nap for like an hour and I felt loads better. I'm kind of tired now, but I don't feel as sick as I did before, which is good. Not planning on skipping school tomorrow, unless I start vomiting or something. I may not have even missed anything, though, because they might not have even gone to the football game because of the buses that failed to show up.

Eh.

I hate Charlotte and she's just annoying and she's not even good at being evil, like Julie. She just sucks. How many more episodes?

I love Kandy. sigh.

It's a sad, sad day when Ryan is pissing me off more than Marissa. I suppose it was in character for him to get all jealous just from seeing Marissa and another guy talking, but still. I think Marissa is actually handling things pretty well, all things considered. I like Johnny and her other new friends.

Although, seriously, why the hell are they treating public school like it's... juvie? Honestly. And does that actually happen at any school? Like, a new kid comes, and then the "bad kids" pick them out and start trying to intimidate them? This isn't rhetorical, I'd really like to know. Because maybe it's just my school, but I've never seen anything like that. New kids are ignored way before they're singled out. If she was at my school, she'd probably be ignored for a few days, and they make friends with any of the other Chanel-wearing, preppy girls. Because, seriously. Private school kids aren't the only ones that can afford that sort of stuff. I mean, it's Newport Union. It's not Chino. (That is meant somewhat facetiously, btw, just from how much they tended to diss Chino in the first few episodes ofseason 1. I have nothing against Chino.) All the more popular kids at my school wear the sort of stuff Marissa does, and if it's not like... designer label and all, it's at least a knock-off.

Also, 100% unrealistic that Ryan would be able to burst into the gym at the Newport Union dance. At every dance I've been to (granted, they were all in middle school), you had to show a school i.d. before they'd let you in. You couldn't just rush in there. And while I haven't been to any high school dances, I'd imagine it's the same thing: either you have to present your i.d. to get in, or you have to present it while you buy a ticket. And you definitely couldn't get in without buying a ticket. You can bring people from other schools, but you have to have this dance contract thing signed and buy their ticket for them and so on. No chance in hell Ryan would've been able to just run in there.

Seth and Summer dancing was sweet. And Summer sticking up for Seth and losing her social chair. The Dean and Taylor? Hardly surprising.

...yeah, didn't like it as much as last week's. But, eh, still better than season 2.

alk;sf YES. NO NINA/ANDY. I was so worried. I knew the beginning was meant to look like... something it wasn't, but I was still concerned. And I'm so happy that Nina realized she loved Jake and wasn't just being with him because he was good with Sam.

I hated Harold saying "Maybe she doesn't know what she wants." I don't know, characters do that a lot, pretty much always about women, and it's like... shut up. Even if she doesn't, you certainly don't. And it's usually always like "No, I don't want you" and the guy's all "...you don't know what you want!" Like, hi, let her make a decision FOR HERSELF. Seriously.

But, um, yay to Jake/Nina. I loved Andy/Nina in season 1 and most of season 2, and at the very start of season 3, but then Nina started dating Jake and I ended up really liking Jake, and then Andy started dating Anne Heche, and I started really hating Andy, and Nina was completely right when she said that Andy was just being selfish. Because if he truly loved her, he wouldn't have just kissed her like that. Like, I won't say that he would just let her be with Jake, but it was definitely selfish of him to kiss her. Expressing his feelings and trying to talk about them more rationally, yeah, that's cool, but kissing her? When he knew that her serious boyfriend was moving in that day? Bad Andy. I really hate him these days.

Um, I love Amy. She was kind of a bitch in seasons 1 and 2, but I've loved her ever since the end of season 2, once she realized she wanted to be with Ephram. The Amy/Bright scenes were totally adorable, and the Amy/Rose scenes were so sad/sweet. I love the Abbott family, I really do. But she cut her hair! I think it looks really nice, it's just so surprising, since her hair's been fairly long since the start.

I kind of figured Ephram would show up at the last minute. Boo to him not getting a decent haircut in Europe.

Lastly, Bright/Hannah!!! :DDD Aw, man, I love them. My heart was totally just... racing during the airport scene. Poor insecure Hannah, but yay to Bright completely and totally reciprocating her feelings. I love them together.

Aw, I really like this show. I forget how much I like it when I'm not like... actually watching an episode, and the love fades a lot during the summer, but... yeah. It can be really, really good.

I watched the first 10 minutes of Reunion and then stopped. The first two episodes I really enjoyed all the cheesy, campy fun, but I could not stand the beginning of this episode. Will and Craig still vying for Sam? I mean, I can see Will still being obsessed a little, but Craig? Really? I just don't get it. I mean, it's pretty pathetic. But that I could deal with. What infuriated me was Sam. wtf does she think she's doing, trying to get her child back? Is she insane? She gave up her daughter. Maybe she thinks that that's a mistake now (since she can't have kids and all anymore), but it's too. bad. I'm sorry, but I have absolutely no sympathy for her. I may be able to understand why she wants her daughter back, but it definitely does not justify her actions. I mean, how does she think the kid's adoptive parents think? They've spent an entire year with her. Sam doesn't know her daughter at all. It just... la;ksjd ugh. I can't even put into words how angry it makes me. I mean, she doesn't have enough money to do all this! How the hell could she support both a child and herself? Does she even have a job? It's just insane. If she wants a child, even if she can't give birth again, she can always, I don't know, adopt one, once she can provide the child with stability. I haven't seen anything more than the first scene where she meets the adoptive parents so I can't say how this turns out, but in all reality, do you think she'd actually win the case? She gave up the child. It was her choice. No one forced her to do it. And the adoptive parents wanted the child and can provide for her, unlike Sam. And Sam's only like 20! There's no chance in hell a court would choose to give her daughter to Sam over the adoptive parents. No. Way.

ugh. I'll probably wait until Saturday night and see if I want to continue watching it. Right now, I just don't want to bother.

Everybody Hates Chris will come tomorrow or Saturday. Serenity tomorrow! eee! :D I can't wait!

Actaully, to answer some of your questions.

In our school dances, we dont have to have ID. My school obviously doesn't care who comes and who doesn't. (BTW, my school sucks but its still a school i guess)

And in our school, i've seen New Kids being bullied their first day of classes because of soemthing they've moved away from. It's very realistic in our school.

I guess my school (and all the other schools in the area) are just different, then. It probably varies from school to school. Do you have to buy tickets, though? Because that was the part I found the most unrealistic. Although I do live 15 minutes from Newport Beach, so I would think that the policies at the schools there would be like the ones we have here (though I could be totally off on that).

The bully thing I guess must happen in other schools if it pops up on television so much. Here, they just gossip about you behind your back rather than bullying you.

Have you seen the way Will looks now? He's not even as pretty as he was in the first 2 episodes. He's a priest (or something) and has the looks of a killer. That's the impression it left me and dad so even if he might not have been the one that killed he looks like one. Also? I've got practically the certainty that he became that because he couldn't get Sam. It's like "I can't have Sam, I don't want anyone else and the best way to make sure of it is that"... Sam is just stupid to think the adoptive parents will let her see and leave with their daughter. Too bad Sam, you gave her up, it's a mistake, you should have thought about that before. You can't have anymore child (except by adoption) it doesn't mean you still have rights on the girl. Nope... didn't watch the whole thing myself. I just can't.

I know, it just annoys me way too much to sit through right now. Especially the Sam part. I doubt she would even go after her kid so much if she was still able to have children. It's not the adoptive parents' fault that she gave up her daughter and now wants her back. They shouldn't be punished for her mistake.

I have to agree. I don't think Sam would react the same way if she still could have children. I mean, she might still have wanted to see her but not as much as this. I understand her view in a way but I think it's just wrong of her of doing what she did. Anyways... no thanks.

The only thing I really do wonder about now though is Will. He's the only one that still intrigues me a bit. I kinda want to see the reason why he became a priest... just to know if I was right or not. It's either because of Same or because he killed. :/

And, well, I can't help but think that the actor playing him is cute. Not in the priest apparel but... yeah.

Oh yeah... could you believe one of the critics said that Reunion was one of the best shows since Lost?

Date: 2005-10-01 12:05 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Definitely can't believe that. Though I think I've heard them say that on just about every new drama this year. What gets me is that I don't even find Lost to have been the best drama last year, I preferred Veronica Mars far more (and still do).

Still have to watch both Lost and VM completely before getting a full, honest opinion but I think I have to agree on enjoying VM more.

I thought that the whole dance thing was actually pretty realistic. Or at least it was realistic when I compared it to my high school. You did have to sign up if you were bringing people from other schools but for the most part nobody really paid attention, except for Prom.

However, it did bug me that the public school system in Newport was so skanky. My high school was in better condition and I live in an area where half of the families are on welfare.

I guess the schools in this city are just different. Or... it just depends on the area you're from and it isn't necessarily just my schools that are strict on that stuff (though Newport is very, very close to where I live, so I would think they'd have policies more like the ones here).

I know, me too. Although I'm thinking I should stop basing things on my high school, as it's ranked one of the top public schools in California and in the nation. So, maybe I shouldn't be basing it on that. But still, not all public high schools are bad. All the ones in Irvine are really great. I would think Newport would have at least one decent public high school, and if not, she could always go to school in like Corona Del Mar, or something.

Wanna know more crazy about Reunion? Carla takes the nanny job so Sam can see her baby. How stupid are these people? Seriously. They're both morons for thinking it's okay for Sam to just barge in and want to see her baby. And yeah Craig is so dumb. I mean move on. I know Will is all obsessed and stuff but I dunno.

Date: 2005-10-01 12:09 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Oh god, that's just ridiculous. I think I remember reading something about that when I was looking at some spoilers, and yeah. ugh. It's ridiculous that they think she thinks she can punish the adoptive parents just because she was the one to make a mistake. It doesn't work like that.

Will I can see being obsessed as they dated so briefly and they weren't able to be a real couple, and... I don't know. He just seems like he'd be that way. But Craig it definitely seems like he should've hooked up with tons of girls at college and stopped obsessing over Sam.

I don't know much about catholicism, but how can will be a priest anyway, he's had premarital relations, and is an ex-con? just wondering.

also, my high school was nothing like Newport Union apparently either. And I was slightly put off on how they were portraying it.

I don't know either, actually. I know almost nothing about Catholicism.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one, then. :)

Nope not the only one!

Oh, but even though the oc was portraying public schools like Juvie as you mentioned, I can't be too mad at the show, because Summer and Seth enter a scene, and I forget my worries. OR Kandy help too.

Hmmm, still wondering about Will though.
