I finished both Bridget Jones books last night. I liked them both a lot, more than the movies (why couldn't the whole bit with Mark's line "It's all right. I realize I'm here. I don't think it's the sort of thing we should be keeping from each other," be put in the movie? I couldn't stop giggling over that line. And there were many others like that that I had wished had made it into the movie). And yeah, the second movie is nearly nothing like the book. But there are some things about the movies that I like more than the books. Anyways, I'm glad I bought the books.

I also watched Love Actually with the commentary on. hee. I love Hugh Grant just constantly bashing Colin Firth. They need to do a movie together (preferably involving many scenes with them fighting each other) and do a commentary on the movie together, because that would be excellent.

All Southern auditions tomorrow. I don't know how likely it is I'll make it, but oh well. Nothing more I can do than make sure all my scales are memorized.

School starts up again on Monday, and then I have two weeks and then it's finals. Eck. I wish my school was more like other schools and had finals right before winter break. It's such a hassle to be learning all this stuff, then take two weeks off, and then have to remember everything you learned before break in addition to learning bunch a new stuff for two weeks and then have to study your ass off. Especially since my grades are so borderline this year (well, ok, half my grades are. But I don't want half my grades to be B's), so I really need to ace some of my finals. I miss freshman year. sigh.

Hey. Agh school, im sorry.
I started on Thursday which is shitty and makes no since.
Why not just start on a fresh new week? Well good luck. It sucked for me because I had two new semester courses; Dance and Health. So I had to leave a bunch of my friends that I don't have in any of my other classes. It pisses me off but oh well.

By the way, I wish I got as many comments on my journal as you do. I don't have very many friends here!

Stereophonics "Maybe Tomorrow" is sexy.

LOL, I was amazed they managed to put Hugh Grant's character in the 2nd movie and make it seem natural. I remember seeing the trailer, and going, "Hang on, why is he there!?"

I am madly in love with Hugh Grant! Sexy! It feels weird being totally enamored with someone as old (not that he is that old) as he is. I remember I read the BJD books in one day as well. So good!

I love Love Actually! Haven't watched it yet with the commentary on, but I'll some day next week.

School... hmm I start on monday too. I have the same thing as you, two weeks school then finals! that sucks, like you said you have to refresh your memory for the finals. In high school they had finals in between classes, so that you could remember all the stuff you learned. Now you learned stuff, go on a break, forget the stuff you learned, go back to school again and then you have finals. So you have to study real hard to remember all the stuff you learned in class. Such a hassle, that's why I dislike studying now, when before I didn't really had a problem with that...

i always find films never do books justice which really bugs me! They always seem to leave funny lines out! I've read the first bridget jones before the film came out and i loved it. I should really get back to reading the second!

Wishing you all the luck in this world to succeed sweetheart *huggles*

Sounds like you´re a hardworking student - so good luck on studying for the finals!!!

oh I should watch LA with commentary on. I love it when Colin Firth and Hugh Grant bash each other, they're so in love (lol).

yes, the books and the movies have nothing in common, esp. the second movie (though I think it was still funny). So which book do you like more, the BJD or EOR?

Wow the books ordeal went fast! They are quite easy to read though that's true. I love so many things in the second book that never made it into the movie (oh the hole in the wall would have been awesome) but I guess the whole meeting Colin Firth might have been hard to squeeze in.

I don't like Hugh Grant so I don't think I'd enjoy the commentary, haha. I know a guy who's exactly like him, so he bugs me most of the time.

I adore Love, Actually, and pretty much every actor/actress in it is amazing. I've never watched it with the commentary before though.

Yeah, I had heard after I saw the movie (maybe on one of the DVD extras) that they had added more stuff for Hugh Grant to be in the movie because he wasn't in much of the book so it wasn't very surprising for me when he didn't show up much. But they did manage to make it natural that he was in more of the movie.

Heh, yeah, I really like him as well. Right now I'm obsessing more over Colin Firth, and I'm also obsessing over Hugh Grant, but it does feel very weird considering they're both 45 (they're actually only one day apart in age) and I'm only 16. They both could easily be my father.

The BJD books really are excellent. I had finished the first and it was like 10 PM then and I shouldn't have started the second, but once I did I couldn't stop, so I stayed up till like 1 AM so I could finish it. I really liked both books a lot. :)

Yeah, I agree. That's why it was kind of nice in this case to see the movies first and then read the books. Then I wasn't disappointed by the movies. You should definitely read the second, I really liked it. It's completely different from the movie, though. It's barely recognizable as the same story.

Hee! Thank you so much! :D

Ah yes, you really should listen to the commentary. It's excellent. Heh, yeah, they totally are in love.

Oh I know, it was surprising how different the 2nd movie is from the 2nd book. I'm not sure which one I like better. They both have really excellent moments. I think I do ultimately like the 2nd book better, though I like the 1st movie more.

Date: 2006-01-08 06:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Yeah, they are easy to read, and once I started I couldn't stop. I know what you mean, I wish they'd been able to fit more stuff from the book in. Not even all the huge stuff, there were even just little lines that cracked me up that would've been easy to fit into the movie but didn't make it. Oh well.

I'm not obsessive over Hugh Grant (like I've become over Colin Firth), but I do like him a lot. Still, the commentary isn't just Hugh Grant, there's several other actors and the writer as well, so you might give it a try anyways. But I don't know, the major reason I liked it was probably just Hugh Grant bashing Colin Firth, because I love when they insult each other, so I don't know if you'd like it as much if you weren't in it for that.

Date: 2006-01-08 06:14 am (UTC)

Yeah, it really is an excellent movie. And I definitely suggest checking out the commentary. :)

goooooo. I actually meant Colin Firth, but I guess I typed Hugh Grant because I saw his name in the comments. I am a dork. I like HG, but I love Colin Firth better. I rented What a Girl Wants because of him.

I read the first during school, and couldn't put it down. I ignored the teacher's geometry lecture and everything, then finished it when I got home, then started like immediatly on the second. I love books that are hard to put down.

Like it? *Snorts* I love it and I'm also insanely jealous of your HTML skills!
haha...how long did it take you to be amazing at this html/lj codes stuff?

Date: 2006-01-08 07:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Heh, yeah, that's what it is for me. I enjoy Hugh Grant a lot right now, but I'm definitely more obsessive over Colin Firth. I haven't seen What a Girl Wants, but I saw that he was in it and it's almost enough to make me want to watch it. Someday when I'm bored enough I might actually check it out and just fastforward through all the non-Colin Firth parts.

Heh, that sounds like something I'd do. I'm glad I was able to get the books during break, though, so I would be able to finish them both quickly.

Date: 2006-01-08 07:18 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Aw, thanks. I can't take all the credit for it, though. The codes aren't mine, one of my lj friends sent me her codes and then I altered them to fit the layout. I am pretty familiar with HTML (I've been messing around with I think for... 4 or 5 years now), but not enough to write this entire layout myself.

Date: 2006-01-08 07:20 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hope-you-dance9.livejournal.com
Ohh, I see. Tell you're friends that they did an amazing job, too!
Hahaha, I tried to figure it out (it's my first year) and then I had to take about 4 Advils lol.

Date: 2006-01-08 07:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Yeah, I know, it is pretty complicated. I've just learned like little things along the way, like what different sorts of things do, so I can mess around with HTML codes that already exist and make them look how I want to. But I doubt I'd be able to build an entire layout myself from scratch.

Date: 2006-01-08 07:26 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hope-you-dance9.livejournal.com
Ye have little faith, you can do anything you put your everything into...I think I messed that quote up but it's along those lines lol.
Can I ask a really silly question?
-->Where do you put a premade layout that you want?

Date: 2006-01-08 07:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Well for a paid account there are advanced customizations where you make a new layer and the codes go there. If you don't have a paid account, then you use overrides, which I think are also found in advanced customizations. I'm sorry, I'm not very good at explaining things.
