It's over! :D

Yesterday was the best day of finals in possibly the history of finals. First off, I didn't have finals in either period. Secondly, during 1st period we were just watching a movie, so I spent the time rewatching episodes of The Office (I watched "The Dundies", "Diversity Day", and "Casino Night" since even though I've rewatched the last 3 minutes of that millions of times, I've only watched it through once). Then during 4th period I went to class and my French teacher was like "What, I didn't tell you? You guys can just leave. We're not doing anything" which is especially good because last week people were like "Since we don't have a final can we just not go to class?" and she was all "Of course not! You have to come!" But whatever. So I hung out by the band room studying for English a little until Emma came from her fourth period (since she also was doing nothing) and we went to the AP Physics class to hang out with Jackie (and I forgot that Lulu was also in that class, so I got to hang out with her as well) and we played the best game of Mao ever. Ah, I love playing Mao with people who are playing it for the first time.

Then after that were like interviews for appointed BEC (Band Executive Council) positions, and I tried for Historian (the Historian takes pictures at all the social events and then helps put together a Memory Book and Album thing at the end of the year). I was a bit worried since there are only 3 spaces and so many people were trying out, but today results were posted and I ended up getting the job, so yay! :D

Anyways, now that school is finally out, Junior year classes in review )

So I guess I'm a senior now? Bizarre. I feel like I was just a freshman like yesterday.

Orthodontist appointment next and then beach party! So, expect loads of pictures tonight or tomorrow.

wtf I've been worrying for like a month now over how I did on my final essays in Euro because I thought they were crap and he finally posts the final grades and I got a 92 on the DBQ and a 97 on the FRQ. Are you kidding me? I mean, not that I'm complaining or anything, but the FRQ was such crap, and the DBQ was no better. Ridiculous. But whatever, that brings my final grade to a 94 in Euro, so I'm pleased.

One final down, two to go. The pre-calc final today wasn't too bad. I was pretty exhausted though, since my mom accidentally woke me up at 5 and I couldn't fall asleep after that, so I'm worried I made really small mistakes I didn't catch. Oh well. Now onto studying for chem and English! Joy.

Anyways, why is it that I always get sick for finals? Seriously. It's like clockwork. Last semester the Monday before finals I started with a sore throat and then started feeling worse and worse until I couldn't study anymore because my brain had stopped functioning. And now, the same thing! Well, not as bad thankfully, but yesterday, the Monday before finals, I started getting a sore throat, and it's just been getting worse. bleh. I hope I don't get as sick as I did last semester, because that was pretty bad.

Not checking my friendslist, but a brief(ish) update before I go.

All my finals were... eh, ok. My hardest was probably Euro, which was the one I studied the most for. Also, on Monday night as I was studying for Euro, I started feeling worse and worse, and by like 10 PM I just couldn't... process thoughts anymore. I just had a cold, but it really messed with my head this week. I don't know any of my grades yet (2 of my teachers are posting them on blackboard either today or tomorrow, but the rest I won't know till next week) except for French, which I have a 93.9 in. Somehow my grade went up .3% and I don't understand how that's possible considering that the final was ridiculous (like our listening comprehension was "What monument is near the Hotel Quasimodo? How do you get to the Notre Dame? What's a good Vietnamese grocery store to go to?" (Well I'm not sure about the Vietnamese part, but I swear I heard her say the word for Vietnamese in French) But whatever, I don't care.

Ah, but this week was so much fun. Best finals week ever. On Tuesday even though we didn't have Symphony, a bunch of people came to my house and we played mafia for hours and then finally did a little work, and on Wednesday I went to Emma's and she promised that it was just going to be us and Soan and Jackie so we wouldn't have enough to play mafia and we'd actually do work, but instead when I got there we watched half an hour of this movie with Hugh Grant involving Wales and a hill that they want to be called a mountain, and then decided for some reason to start watching Love Actually because Jackie had never seen it. But then Soan and Emma and Simon (Emma's brother) just started talking through it all and I joined in too so I don't know how much she got.

Today was also good, as after school a bunch of people went to Ruby's to have lunch. But it ended up being kind of too much people, and then somehow I got at the table with more people I didn't know than I did, and blah. There was Galaxy who I'm very good friends with and Zi who I guess I'm pretty good friends with but other than that... like they're good people and all, but I wanted to sit with all the people I was better friends with. Oh well. I also bought the book Wicked by Gregory Maguire since I've heard good things about the musical and just saw it sitting there and it looked intriguing. So yeah.

I wanted to talk about last night's new Veronica Mars, but we're leaving for the airport in like 15 min and I haven't packed yet, so I may want to do that. But I'll just say that there were definitely things I didn't like about it, but I think overall I did like it. All the Logan and Weevil parts were ridiculously awesome.

Anyways. Off to pack, and then off to San Francisco. Will be back Monday some time, but I'm not quite sure when.

Edit: Ah! I just checked my grade in pre-calc even though I didn't think she'd have it up yet, but I have an A-! I got an 89.95, so close to not having an A. But I'm happy, since I was really worried about that grade. So, so far, I know that this semester I have 3 A's (the third being Wind Ensemble, and really, I could count Symphony in that as well, but whatever). Euro's really the only one I don't know about, since anything other than a B in English is pretty unreasonable, and I'd have had to get like a 70 on the chem final to not have an A. I'll know all my grades for sure next week, in any case, no point worrying about them now.

Just for a week, since finals start next Tuesday. But I'm going on hiatus now since I have my English final tomorrow instead of on its finals day, and I also have a Chem test and a pretty big Euro quiz. And hopefully if I tell everyone I'm going on hiatus, I'll actually stay off LJ and study. I have a bunch of comments to catch up on, though, so I'll probably end up doing that tomorrow night anyways. If you have a friends cut, don't cut me, please! I still want to be friended to you all.

So, um, yeah. See you in a week!

I finished both Bridget Jones books last night. I liked them both a lot, more than the movies (why couldn't the whole bit with Mark's line "It's all right. I realize I'm here. I don't think it's the sort of thing we should be keeping from each other," be put in the movie? I couldn't stop giggling over that line. And there were many others like that that I had wished had made it into the movie). And yeah, the second movie is nearly nothing like the book. But there are some things about the movies that I like more than the books. Anyways, I'm glad I bought the books.

I also watched Love Actually with the commentary on. hee. I love Hugh Grant just constantly bashing Colin Firth. They need to do a movie together (preferably involving many scenes with them fighting each other) and do a commentary on the movie together, because that would be excellent.

All Southern auditions tomorrow. I don't know how likely it is I'll make it, but oh well. Nothing more I can do than make sure all my scales are memorized.

School starts up again on Monday, and then I have two weeks and then it's finals. Eck. I wish my school was more like other schools and had finals right before winter break. It's such a hassle to be learning all this stuff, then take two weeks off, and then have to remember everything you learned before break in addition to learning bunch a new stuff for two weeks and then have to study your ass off. Especially since my grades are so borderline this year (well, ok, half my grades are. But I don't want half my grades to be B's), so I really need to ace some of my finals. I miss freshman year. sigh.
