So, I think my father said yes about me getting a new iPod? It wasn't ever explicitely stated, but I think it was implied. We kept going around in circles with our conversation. He'd be all "I'm not getting you one tonight" and I'd be all "...I'm not asking for one now. I just want to know if I will be able to get one sometime." and he'd be all "The silver one should be enough for right now" and I'd be all "...yes. But. In the future." and he'd be all "Sometime" and I'd be all "...but do you have any idea of when?" and then he'd be all "I'm not getting you one tonight" and it'd continue like that over and over again. sigh.
Anyways. Today I had my junior counseling. How they do it is each counselor divides her students and then they do group counseling during a block period with a bunch of other students. (She said the ones today and tomorrow were the... stronger students? which made me feel good about myself.) All we did was go over college stuff with heavy emphasis on the UCs and some on the Cal State program which was slightly irritating to me because I already know that it's unlikely I'll apply to any UC other than Berkeley (I'm probably only applying to 3 schools in CA), but the majority of the students at my school (I think she said 90%? which seems unreasonably high, so I might not be remembering that correctly) stay in CA, so I guess it makes sense. We went over some other stuff but it was all stuff I had heard from my college counselor anyways. Oh and she gave us an unofficial copy of my transcript and I finally know my GPA and it's a 4.13 and I find it kind of amusing that it'd actually be higher if you didn't count Wind Ensemble, Symphony, Jazz Band, and all that. But oh well. My schedule for next year looks like AP English, AP Calc BC, AP Chem, AP French, Wind Ensemble, and right now AP Poli Sci/AP Econ (they're each just one semester) but I'm going to change that, provided I'm able to do it at IVC/summer school. In place of that I'll probably do AP Physics just because the counselor said that UC's like either AP Physics or AP Bio and I hate biology and while I'm not like a lot of people I know who are applying to like every UC, I don't want it to hurt my chances at Berkeley, so yeah. Plus, supposedly Malin's coming back next year (despite how much he keeps saying he's going to retire), so that's fine. I would've kind of liked to take AP Music theory or AP Art History, but if I really wanted, I could take Art History in college, and I think I'd get sick of Music Theory pretty quickly. So, yeah.
Um, lastly. Something. Oh yeah! I got my Wicked soundtrack today! I haven't listened to it yet since I just got home and am burning it to my computer now, but I will.

Date: 2006-03-02 04:28 am (UTC)Music theory, I had a class like that in High School. It does get pretty ..old. But alteast it's still music related :)
Your iPod conversation made me giggle. "He'd be all.. And I'm all.." I hope you get it soon though!!
I was going to wait to get a new one at the end of the month but I have so much crap (videos) I want to get off my computer.

Date: 2006-03-02 05:53 am (UTC)I had a lot of music theory when I took piano from when I was like 5 to 13 so I think it'd be easy at the beginning for me, which would be kind of nice. And I actually do really like theory. But the teacher that would be teaching it I'd already have for Wind Ensemble (4 days a week), jazz band (3 days a week), Symphony (1 day a week), and marching band (5 days a week), so I'm thinking adding a whole other class she's teaching would drive me insane.
Hee. I'm such a CA girl. I always talk like that when I'm describing how people talk. But anyways, thank you! I hope I get one soon too.
