Rejected from Brown, which, I mean, I love Brown, but it's not like I was expecting to get in. Now I'm just waiting on Amherst, but that'll probably also be a rejection. I think I'm going to go to Macalester. As much as I was excited about getting into Tufts Friday, I just like Macalester more. This wouldn't have been the case like 6 months ago, but this past week I've been researching it a lot and looking at these posts on this forum the admissions officers made for people who have been accepted to ask current students questions, and I just really like it. I love their Humanities, Media, and Cultural studies major, and their psych major also looks pretty good (although part of Tufts that's still drawing me to going there is their psychology major with clinical psychology focus). I don't know, there are a lot of good things about Tufts, but I think Macalester is a much better fit for me. (Plus, it's like $10,000 cheaper.)

I watched the season 3 premiere of Doctor Who. This isn't really at all an episode review and it's not even spoilery for this episode, but there is a small spoiler (that I feel like everyone must have heard by now, but I can't be sure of that) for the end of the season, so under the cut it goes. Doctor Who 3.01: Smith and Jones )

And now I have the urge to buy seasons 1 and 2 of Doctor Who on amazon (and they're so much cheaper than they used to be! I saw season 1 in Barnes and Noble when I was in Minneapolis last summer and it was $100, and now they're both $65ish!) and I'm trying to resist because I don't really need to blow the remaining $100 on my gift certificate to amazon.com, and anyways, I blew a lot of money off my visabuxx card on gas and Paintshop Pro (because I freaking lost the CD! and then had to get a new computer) and whatever else, but I really have the urge to get them because I want to see them again. Also, I want Torchwood to be on again. I don't really know why. I just got the urge to watch it when watching Doctor Who.

Anyways, I also finally watched the last two episodes of Battlestar Galactica (I generally record them because I hate watching TV on Sunday night, and I hate watching shows at 10 PM even more, so BSG's timeslot is pretty much the worst thing ever) and I don't feel like talking extensively about them, but the end of the finale totally blew my mind (even though I was kind of predicting something like that pretty much all through those two episodes). And for the past... well since it came back in January, I've been kind of meh about BSG but those episodes (especially the finale!) have made me all ridiculously excited about it again, and now it's not coming back until next January? Why must you torture me?!

One week until spring break! How did that happen? I was expecting it to not be for another week or so! But ah, so excited. Band trip to San Fran! Many days where I can sit around and watch movies and maybe finally watch seasons 5-7 of The West Wing, because yeah, I haven't touched those DVDs since February. This week is going to be a bitch, but it'll be awesome when it's finally over.

Had an interview for Brown today. It went really well, I thought. I loved the interviewer; she was really friendly and energetic. There are so many people applying to Brown from my school, though! gah. Intimidating. Oh well, I've accepted I probably won't get in. As long as I get into Vassar, I'll be happy. (Oh, god, I really want to go to Vassar.)

I've been really wanting to watch a bunch of movies since I watched The Oscars (I think I mentioned this in my post Monday). I think I'm actually going to try to go for 100 movies this year. I started that last year, but when I was only to about 25 in the summer, I figured it wasn't going to happen. (I ended up getting to 67, by the way.) But now I really want to do it. Unfortunately, so far, I only have 5, so I have a lot of catching up to do, and I'm not even sure if it's possible at this point, or if it requires watching like 3 movies a day, but I'm going to try. I have this long list (about 50?) of movies I want to watch. I watched Amélie last night and absolutely loved it (how have I never seen it before?). Not sure yet what I'm going to watch tonight, but it'll be something (er, provided I finish my French essay and finish studying for chem by 8:30, which, I think I need to stop typing this post if I want to have any hope for that).

All my friends seem to suddenly be getting into shows I like. It's funny. Jackie started watching Lost and Ugly Betty a few weeks ago. Emma's been getting into The Office. Soan started watching Veronica Mars at the beginning of the year because it was on after Gilmore Girls and I lent her my season 1 and 2 DVDs and now she's even more into it (and she understands the Logan love, which she didn't before). Jessica's been watching The Office and she saw Serenity recently and now wants to borrow my Firefly DVDs, and she watched The Black Donnellys premiere and really likes the show. I don't know, I think it's kind of awesome. In the past I've had friends like shows I like (Lulu with about everything [well not everything, but a lot of shows. But she's into fandom, so it's kind of different], Annie with Buffy and she's watching The Office now too [or at least she watched season 1, I don't know about the new episodes], and Jackie with Buffy and early episodes of Everwood.) but that was all so much more spread out. Now it's like all at once I have a show to talk to about with each of my friends. It makes me happy.

Ok, I guess it's time to write my French essay. (Blah, I had to write two last week and one a week or two before. I'm tired of French.)

OMG WICKED WAS SO AMAZING. I must see it again when it comes to the Performing Arts Center in August, because geez. That was just awesome.

I don't even really know what to say about it. Everything was just perfect. Oh! The guy who played Mr. Trick on Buffy during season 3? He played Dr. Dillamond! I found that amusing. Also, the guy who played Fiyero, when he came on stage, I was like "Whoa, he really reminds me of Roger from Rent" and it turned out that he actually has played Roger in Rent recently, so I found that kind of amusing as well.

And I got a t-shirt! It's long-sleeved and says Wicked and has flying monkeys on the left sleeve. I love it.

Anyways, the rest of the trip. )

And that's about it. I did a bunch of preparation for the Math 2C SAT II (all I really have left is to finish the practice tests in the book), absolutely none for the French SAT II, and absolutely none for my Euro final/the actual AP exam. sigh. I am so screwed. I need to study a bunch for that today, in addition to the French essay that I have yet to write and is due tomorrow. blah. Not so fun being home.
