There's this spider in my bathroom that I'm pretty sure has regenerative powers. Seriously. This morning, it was in the sink, and I turned on the water because I didn't have contacts in and couldn't see it, and then I saw something move and when I put my contacts in the spider had drowned and was all flat and stuff. But then this afternoon when I came home, I went in the bathroom and the dead spider was gone, and a live one that looked exactly like the one from this morning was just sitting there, hanging out, all alive and well and such. And I wouldn't think it was the same spider because we have plenty in this house, except where the hell did the dead one go? It was big and didn't wash down the drain or anything. Crazy.

Anyways, today instead of going to 6th period (Wind Ensemble), I played in a sax quintet for the reopening of this Ralph's near my school. Kind of weird, but it was actually pretty fun. We didn't sound too bad for only having played a week, and we got free lunch and coffee out of it. And they paid our school's music program $1000, and since we didn't play for very long (we were just background music at the very beginning), it works out to nearly $100 a minute. Pretty good.

I finally watched the episode of Studio 60 from Monday. Just a few thoughts... )

I'm really loving The O.C. this season so far. The second episode was just so freaking good. Way better than most of season 3 and... pretty much all of season 2. I hope it continues with the same quality, because yeah. This is almost reminiscent of season 1.

New episodes of My Name is Earl, The Office, Ugly Betty, Supernatural, and The O.C. in about 17 minutes! (It's a good thing I don't have school tomorrow, and actually have the time to watch all this. Well, not Supernatural, because I still haven't seen last week's episode because my DVR player chose not to record it and I downloaded it but haven't had the time to watch it yet, so I'll probably save it for like Saturday.) TV makes me happy. :D

Watched QAF 508. Um, kind of long commentary. Slightly spoilery for future episodes at the end. )

So, thankfully, no spiders devoured me in my sleep last night, and additionally, I found none sitting on me when I woke up this morning. I finished cleaning the floor of my room. Or, at least, organizing everything into piles. Boxes of paper that I'm done with, piles of papers/photos/other things that I don't want to get rid of, a stack of notebooks, a stack of binders, a very tall stack of CD cases that migrated from my dresser to various places on the ground, a pile of socks (...so that's where they all went!), some book covers I used last year for my textbooks, 2 bags of various pencils/pens/etc, and a pile of 3x5 notecards. I did not see the spider anywhere. This is making me nervous, as I figure one of five different scenarios could have happened. First, it could've crawled into one of the 2 open drawers in my dresser. This is very likely, as it was scurrying in that direction when I last saw it. This isn't too bad, as I rarely go into those drawers and if I do, it won't be for months, most likely. Spiders don't have long lives, right? Hopefully by then it will be dead. Second, it could've crawled behind my dresser. This is also all right, as I never, ever go back there, and in my vast cleaning plan for my room over the next few weeks, behind my dresser is not one of the places I plan on cleaning. Three, it could've gone back into the box of papers where it originally crawled out of. This isn't so bad, either, as long as it stays in there. Four, it could've left my room entirely. I like this scenario a lot. Fifth, it could've crawled under my bed. This scenario is freaking me out the most, because the next place I planned on cleaning was under my bed, as there are many, many papers there. Then I managed to comfort myself by realizing that it's a small, dark place, and there are probably already several spiders living down there. ...this ended up not comforting me very much, and instead freaked me out more. sigh.

Anyways. Ended up deciding not to go to Irvine Stadium to watch fireworks and hang out with people. Don't think I ever was seriously considering it. I think I'd feel kind of awkward just showing up there, since it was only casually mentioned to me and... it didn't feel like a real invite, though I suppose it was. I don't know. I felt liked I'd have more fun cleaning my room. ...yeah. That's kind of pathetic.

SAT class returns once more tomorrow. I have a quiz and homework and I haven't even looked at anything yet. This is especially bad, seeing as I won't have any time to do anything tomorrow morning. I guess I should do that sometime tonight. hm.

Random semi-ranting about my mom )

I need to make some icons. I haven't been making very many lately. I made a set of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind icons a few nights ago, but that's it. hm. I should make some more soon.

Started organizing my CDs. I guess I'll finish doing that now, and then do my SAT hw and study for the quiz.

Happy Fourth to all that live in the U.S. :)

After spending several hours cleaning my room, I have come to two conclusions: A) there are far too many spiders in my room, and B) I am terribly afraid of spiders. Not all spiders, really. I'm fine with the daddy long legs that are thin, look frail, and live in plain site in my bathroom. But the thicker, darker ones? Horribly afraid of them. In my room, I found 2 baby spiders, which didn't really freak me out too much, as they were about the size of a speck of dust (...um, except for one, which took me by surprise by moving very quickly out of nowhere and caused me to freak out and kill it before realizing that it was very, very tiny and would cause me no harm). But on the other side of my room, in the corner, I found a good-sized, thick, dark spider and it scared the flying fuck out of me. I'm still nervous to go over there. I quickly abandoned cleaning that side of the room. I'll go back to it tomorrow. Uh. Probably.

Anyways. This is really all I've been doing today. The morning I squandered away doing absolutely nothing online. Then in the early afternoon, I started organizing my papers in some boxes in my room and finding stuff to put up on my walls (magazine pages and some photos). Then, after awhile, I moved on to deciding to just completely organize everything in my room. I've done... very little so far. But, as I said, I'm a little too freaked out by the spider to venture to the other side of the room, as I didn't see where it scampered off to. heh. I'm such a baby.

No plans for tomorrow. Well, Emma and Andrew sort of invited me to this big thing at Irvine Stadium where a bunch of people I know are going where there'll be food and games and then fireworks-watching. I was thinking about going, but I've been feeling kind of anti-social today, so I don't know. I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

On Tuesday is a band gathering at Boomers Palace Park and then dinner somewhere. I was considering going for awhile, but then I remembered I have SAT class from 4-7, and the thing starts at 2. Even then, I was thinking about going for just an hour or two and then going straight to SAT class, but then my mom told me I have a hair appointment in the morning. Going to cut and re-straighten my hair. My hair used to be super-curly and I absolutely hated it, so I had it straightened last summer. It's actually stayed pretty straight. Only guaranteed to last like... 6 months, but it's been like 10 now and it's still pretty straight. Still, it's getting way too long, so I really want to cut it (not too short, just slightly below my shoulders) and I might as well restraighten it, because in a few months, it'll probably be a lot curlier. So, I guess that shoots any thoughts of going to the thing on Tuesday. It's ok, though. I might not even have decided to go, anyways.

Yeah, so it's been a pretty nothing day. I guess I'll move on and clean the next section of my room, provided I stop freaking out over the stupid spider.
