Jun. 15th, 2008 05:57 pmI am done with my first day at work! It went all right. I spent 1 1/2 hours watching training videos and then I got to get trained on Box Office, which was awesome. The girl training me told me it took her 4 months before she got to do Box Office, and another guy said it took him 2 months, so I was super lucky. I was totally expecting to get ushering (aka glorified cleaning crew) for the first day. I screwed up a lot, but at the end the manager told me that I had been doing well and to keep up the good work, so I guess I didn't screw up too much. Anyways, the guy who hired me who's the director or whatever wasn't there so they didn't know when I was going to be working next, so I have to call on Tuesday afternoon to see when I'm scheduled next. But that means I get tomorrow and Tuesday (at least the morning) off, which I'm happy about. I need a break. I was so exhausted today because of the concert. I stayed up until 3 AM uploading pictures and making them pretty (I was under the illusion that I'd be able to do all that and write up a huge concert post because I knew I wouldn't have time today, but clearly I was delusional) and then got up at 9 AM to shop for work clothes/shoes.
So yeah, concert post will come tomorrow! Even though... I'm pretty sure there are only 2 people in bandom on my flist, and one of them went to the concert, so I don't know how many people will even care. But still. It's more for me so I can remember it in the future than for anyone else.

Jun. 14th, 2008 01:17 pmSo, I totally officially have a job at the movie theater now! woot! I'm going in on Sunday at 1 PM to get training and stuff and possibly start working? Not sure. But yay! It was totally bizarre, though, I was waiting for the manager to get the paperwork together and he was getting someone else's as well and then the person arrived next to me and I didn't glance over because I figured I wouldn't know them, but then they nudged my arm and I looked at it was Siena. She went to elementary school with me and we have... a weird history? She and her friend were total bitches to me in 6th grade and I hated her because of that and other stuff and I'm too lazy to get into and no one really cares about. But anyways, she pretty much ignored me in middle school and high school. One of her best friends went to Macalester too which was totally bizarre since like no one from my high school had gone to that school in years. But yeah, and my dad's a lawyer and her mom was a judge in one of the cases he was involved in this past year, so it seems like I will never be able to escape her.
But anyways. CONCERT TODAY YAY! ...I kind of already went, actually. I arrived at 12:30 PM and then the guy at the parking was like "You have to park across the street at this plaza until the girls arrive at 3 PM." ugh. And it looked like they weren't letting anyone line up anyways, so I was like "...hang out alone in a boring strip mall (and by strip mall I mean like... 5 shops, none of them interesting) for 2 hours and then sit in line for another 3 hours alone, or go home and since it's only about 20-25 minutes to my house, actually be able to hang out at home for 1-1.5 hours?" So yeah, I obviously chose the second option. BUT STILL! CONCERT! I'm going to leave in a little over an hour and hopefully I'll be able to park then and line up and then sit in line forever. I'll probably just bring my iPod with me to entertain me in line since I'm wearing my old guyshorts and the pockets are MASSIVE and are zippered/buttoned so it shouldn't fall out during the concert.

Feb. 13th, 2008 06:34 pmI officially have tickets to the Panic! at the Disco/Motion City Soundtrack (and others, but those are the two I'm going for) concert in Anaheim in June. I can't believe I've only seen Panic! (I know there's no exclamation point anymore, but it's hard to break the habit!) once. And it was so long ago! I think... October of my junior year of high school, so that would be... 2005! Fever had been out for only a month! There was no Jon Walker! (...well, he still existed. But you know what I mean) Actually, that's the last time I saw MCS, too (although I've seen them more times. I think three total?). I'm assuming I'm going alone which will kind of suck when waiting in line, but it's near impossible to stick together in the pit anyways, so that won't really matter. And I hate that it's a huge venue (why couldn't they play at Bren Events Center? Or House of Blues Anaheim?). But at least it's on a Saturday night, so if I do get a job over the summer, like I'm planning, I'll still be able to go.
