Nov. 23rd, 2009 04:42 pmomg I GOT SO MUCH DONE THIS WEEKEND. I'm like... I don't know. Amazed and super proud of myself. Whenever I have a lot of stuff going on, I tend to make lists so I can cross off stuff I get done with, but usually they're like... lists of ideals and I never actually get to EVERYTHING. But this weekend I actually totally did! Oh man this is going to make this week and next week and really the rest of the semester so much less stressful. When I go to the library, I actually get work done! And it's somehow not as much of a pain as getting work done in my apartment is. On Sunday I was like "...well, I got a lot done Saturday, and I don't feel like going to the library, so I'll just stay here. I can totally get stuff done!" And then it was past 1 PM and I hadn't done anything, so I was like "ugh ok this isn't going to happen. Fine I'll go to the library." And then I got two major things done in less than an hour! I need to remember this next time I'm super busy. It feels so good to be productive!
I spent some of the afternoon Sunday finally cleaning and organizing my desk and closet (because I actually had the time to!), which had kind of become a mess. And then I took pictures of my room and the kitchen/living/dining area of the apartment, so I'll finally actually post pictures of the place probably on the weekend. I mostly decided to finally take them because I'll be seeing my aunt on Thanksgiving, and she hasn't seen the place obviously, and I know she'll want to know about it and all. Plus, my dad hasn't seen it since I moved in, and we added posters and some furniture and moved some furniture since he saw it last, and I promised I'd take pictures of it to show him, too. So yeah.
I have my second Discrete Math midterm tomorrow. I'm debating how much to study for it. I mean, here's the thing: as I've mentioned like a million times by now, I'm taking the class pass/fail, I have an A currently, we still have a take-home final, project, and several hw assignments left (all of which I'll probably do pretty well on, so they should all bring up my grade if it falls. Except maybe the project. But the rest, definitely), the midterm is open-book and open-notes (and I take great notes), and we can earn half the points we lose back if we correct the test afterwards. Also, I hate the class. And I wouldn't know how to study for the midterm, since based on the last midterm, several of the problems will be theorems we haven't seen before that we need to prove based on skills we learned proving other theorems. So I'm pretty much leaning towards collecting all my graded homework assignments, putting them in my backpack, and... not doing anything else. I mean, I barely studied for the first one (which was not open-book, open-notes) and I got an 85 (which I revised and so it became a 92.5). I'm pretty sure I just convinced myself to not study at all for this test. We'll see how it goes. Even if I got a 0 (which would not happen; I mean, I've been doing well in the class so far because I do understand many of the concepts, so I should get at least SOME points), I could revise it up to a 50, and a 50 on the midterm would not drop my grade below a C-. Ok, not studying. Instead I think I'll work on the draft of the project that's due a week from Tuesday since I don't want to have to work on it over Thanksgiving break or last minute next Monday.
I finally got my Farscape DVDs! They're so nice and shiny. I think I'll take them home with me over Thanksgiving so I'm not tempted to start them before the semester is over. I definitely do not have time for that. Ah I'm so excited for Thanksgiving break. Not much longer now!
