Incredibly unpopular opinion alert: I kind of don't want Friday Night Lights to get renewed (as is being rumored) if it's in the place of Chuck. I think what it comes down to, for me, is that I'm satisfied with the final episode of this season of FNL as a series finale, but I'm afraid that the finale for Chuck won't be made as a series finale, and it'll be a cliffhanger or they won't tie up everything or whatever. And there's also the fact that all the original characters wouldn't be back for next season of FNL, right? Possible spoilers for season 3 ) I don't know, in any case, I guess I feel more confident in where Chuck would go with a 3rd season than where FNL would go with a 4th. And also, there's the fact that even though FNL's first and third seasons were great, its 2nd was... mixed, at best. I remember it started to become a chore to watch it last season, and that definitely hasn't happened for me with Chuck yet.

I mean, trust me, I'm all for FNL getting picked up for more seasons. But if I had to choose between the two shows, I would go for Chuck, and I was already getting worried about Chuck's ratings and its pick up for next season when I read the thing about FNL, which I assumed was getting canceled just based on how NBC treated it this year and how terrible its ratings are, so this is just making me more worried. =/ But I guess I'll be less upset over this scenario than if Privileged is canceled in favor of 90210, which I think there's a much greater chance of.

Anyway, last night was kind of awful for a variety of really minor, stupid things. But this morning got a lot better. One of the things pissing me off last night was this lab for stats which I was really struggling with and it was just frustrating. But I talked to the professor this morning after Differential Equations, and now I understand what I need to do for it, so I'm feeling much better about it. And the other stupid things last night were just minor and temporary and it's all better now. Except for the ridiculous weather we're having today. It's actually fairly warm, but it's been raining/snowing all day. I really hate when it rains and then the rain freezes to the sidewalk and it's impossible to walk anywhere without slipping. I'm just trying to remind myself that I'll be in California on Friday and the weather there will make up for this (...even if I will be skiing in Mammoth for 3 days. But still, Mammoth weather should be better than this).

Apparently Peter Berg is coming to speak at graduation here in May. If you don't know who he is, he's been in various movies that you can find on imdb (none of them I've seen), but more importantly, he wrote the Friday Night Lights movie screenplay, is involved in the development of the show, and he directed both the movie and the pilot episode of FNL. It turns out that he went to my school, which I feel like I knew before but forgot. Unfortunately graduation is at least a week after I'm planning on leaving, so I don't get to hear him speak. Pretty cool, though.

Torchwood 2.13 )

I watched the season premiere of Battlestar Galactica and totally loved it, but I actually think I have more to say about the last 15 minutes of the season 3 finale. I watched the end of the finale right before the premiere since it was showing on SciFi, and I didn't talk much about the episode when it originally aired, but holy crap, the end just kills me. I totally just have goosebumps for the entire last quarter of that episode. Everything is just brilliant and amazing and reminds me why I love the show so much. And now I desperately need to rewatch the entire series, especially since I've only seen season 1 and the first half of season 2 twice, and season 3 and the second half of season 2 once. This is, of course, in no way feasible considering the ridiculous amount of work I have left this semester. I'm hoping to be able to do it once the semester is over. I should be able to, but there are like a million shows I've gotten the urge to rewatch in the past few months, so I don't know if I'll still want to in a month.

I've actually managed to get some work done today already, which I'm really proud of. I usually only get anything done on Saturdays if I have a paper due the following week. So far I've finished the reading for Film Analysis that... ok, was due Thursday (but I didn't have time to finish it during the week because of my Drugs and Society test and... my incessant procrastinating), but I've also finished the reading for Engilsh that's due on Tuesday. I'm going to keep working on various things until dinner (so, another 2-3 hours) and then I can relax for the rest of the night and hopefully have less work to do on Sunday and during the week as a result. I totally said I was going to post the photo meme today and that's clearly not happening. The plan is to post it tomorrow, but at this rate, it'll probably be up by, like, July. ugh. I fail.

Impatiently waiting for the Doctor Who premiere to pop up! I want it desperately (even though I'm supposed to still work for another few hours and wouldn't be able to watch it until after dinner anyways).

I officially have tickets to the Panic! at the Disco/Motion City Soundtrack (and others, but those are the two I'm going for) concert in Anaheim in June. I can't believe I've only seen Panic! (I know there's no exclamation point anymore, but it's hard to break the habit!) once. And it was so long ago! I think... October of my junior year of high school, so that would be... 2005! Fever had been out for only a month! There was no Jon Walker! (...well, he still existed. But you know what I mean) Actually, that's the last time I saw MCS, too (although I've seen them more times. I think three total?). I'm assuming I'm going alone which will kind of suck when waiting in line, but it's near impossible to stick together in the pit anyways, so that won't really matter. And I hate that it's a huge venue (why couldn't they play at Bren Events Center? Or House of Blues Anaheim?). But at least it's on a Saturday night, so if I do get a job over the summer, like I'm planning, I'll still be able to go.

Meme time! List 5 TV Credits you love, which you don't fast-forward. The credits. )

Time to start making flashcards for my test on Friday and maybe do the other assignment I have to do for Friday.

So I spent the last two days watching Friday Night Lights. I've been planning on doing it since like January what with how many people on my flist seem to love it and I was just waiting because I didn't want to start the show midseason. I ended up loving it a lot more than I expected. Some babbling about nearly all the characters. )

asfkj my grades just came and somehow I only got Bs in calculus and chemistry! I don't know how that happened; I tried so little this semester. And I should've gotten a B in physics, I mean I know my final grade in the class and it was like an 86 or something but I think he said he would bump up the grades some at the end of the semester so I guess he did that to mine. And I got an A- in English! :D I kind of knew that was going to happen actually as of the last week of school, but I'm still surprised that it actually happened. Anyways, yeah. That went a lot better than I expected. And at least now my parents aren't complaining, because I was telling my mom a month or two ago I was only going to get As in band and French and she started going on about underachieving or something and how I shouldn't slack off even though it's my second semester of senior year and everyone does, but anyways. I'm very happy now. :D

Warped Tour is tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited for it. I think then on Saturday I'm going to start watching seasons 5-7 of The West Wing that I have on DVD and haven't watched yet. Yay for summer. :D
