So, this week kind of sucks overall, just because I have so much crap to do. So far, I've assembled my letter of rec packets, asked two teachers to write my letters, and given the packets to them. I still have to write my national merit essay, Colorado College supplement essay, finish a packet for my counselor to do recs, schedule a meeting with my counselor, finish pt. 2 of the Stanford essay, and send my Vassar supplement. sigh. Of course, this is in addition to IMPACT stuff, marching band stuff, and school work.

Anyways, so I signed up to be a math tutor, like I do every year, and every year no one calls me. But then this year, I signed up, and immediately that afternoon someone called me to ask if I could tutor them in pre-calc. I find this very amusing for some reason. But yeah, I'm kind of excited about that. I like tutoring people and teaching them stuff (this is the part of me that wants to become a teacher when I grow up. Unfortunately, I have a bunch of other parts of me that all want to do other things, so I'm all indecisive).

The Office premieres tomorrow night! ee! I'm so excited. :D

I watched the Studio 60 premiere and I already saw the pilot like a month ago so I wasn't super excited for it, but I'm super excited for next week when the actual storylines start up, since the pilot just kind of sets up the premise of the show. Prison Break was great again Monday, and I'm liking Vanished more and more every week.

All right, off to do the millions of things I have to do.

Edit: blah, I forgot, happy birthday, Lulu ([livejournal.com profile] violetmist2003)! I actually remembered last night and meant to tell you happy birthday in school, but I forgot. Sorry! Happy birthday!

Saw Brokeback Mountain with Lulu ([livejournal.com profile] violetmist2003) today, and ee! So good! And so sad. But so good! I definitely reccomend seeing it (if you can find somewhere that's playing it, of course). The theater was packed, which I'm glad at since it means the movie's making money, but bad because... I don't know, it's uncomfortable when there are so many people there. Plus, it was really weird watching sex scenes when there was an 80 year old man sitting next to me. There really wasn't anyone my age there except for maybe a few people.

But yeah, anyways. So good. I want to see it again. I think I'd like it even better a second time.

Anyways. Happy New Years Eve to everyone! And since it's New Years Eve, that means it's exactly 2 weeks until my birthday. Very awesome.

I know this is just about everywhere, but it looks fun: Tell me of a fandom you know I know of and I'll tell you:

01. The first character I first fell in love with
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't
04. The character I love that everyone else hates
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
06. The character I would shag anytime
07. The character I'd want to be like
08. The character I'd slap
09. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I despise

Anyways. Lulu! So we're going to Brokeback on Saturday, right? We could go at like 12 or 3:45. Any other time is probably too late for me. So yeah, let me know which one, and if you need a ride.

Ended up taking my car to the SAAB dealership and I think they found what's wrong so I should have it back today all nice and not stopping in the middle of me driving it. So, that's good.
moulin rouge?

I watched Serenity after I got it, and oh, it's so good. I love that movie. I'm forcing my mom to watch it because I think she'd really like it, too (it's totally up her alley - she's a science fiction and fantasy writer, and she loves that sort of stuff). Also, the outtakes are the awesomest thing ever.

LULU LULU LULU! I checked yahoo movies, and Brokeback's now playing at the theater by Fashion Island. So we can totally see it at any time now, or we could wait until it starts somewhere else near here. But Fashion Island is like... pretty much the distance to the Spectrum, too, just in the opposite direction. But yeah. We totally need to go.

One of my wisdom teeth is coming in, and it hurts like hell. bah. At least I think there might actually be space there for it to grow in (since I had 2 adult teeth pulled), so hopefully I won't have to get it pulled. But I probably will have to have the other 2 or 3 pulled. sigh.

Yesterday was the last day of school, so I am now officially on winter break. Yesterday was pretty good. Jessica gave me a stuffed cow, and I got a card and a candy cane from Rui (which was kind of surprising, but we are lab partners, so it wasn't as bizarre as it would've been if she gave it to me last year). Oh, and I got a box of 4 chocolates from Patrick Chen, because he bought loads and was giving them to all the band people in the morning.

And now I need to finish making presents for everyone. I have most of the big stuff done and then all the icons, but icons are way simpler for me to make. So yeah, should have everything done in time to post on Sunday. :)

Edit: [livejournal.com profile] caingirl - I know you requested a header from me, but I bought you 12 months of paid account (with the extra icons) time instead. I hope that's all right. I don't know anything about the fandom you requested, and even if I'd been able to find images, it wouldn't have come out very well because I have a really hard time making things of fandoms I know nothing about. But I went to your journal and found your wishlist and you said you wanted a paid account, so yeah. I hope this is an acceptable substitute, and I'm really sorry I wasn't able to make anything for you. =/
Edit #2: eep. It was awhile ago that I went to your wishlist and saw that you wanted a paid account, and I just checked now and saw you said it had already been granted, but I've already bought the paid account for you. I'm sorry! Is there anything else you'd like that I could possibly get you?

guh. I am dead. We stayed 15 min over on the day that we already have a longer rehearsal on the hottest day ever. It was like 114 degrees in the park car, and it hadn't been parked there for more than 15 min.

But the essay and test are over! I'm so happy. The test wasn't nearly as bad as I thought, and the essay could've been worse. Can't begin to guess how well I did on either, but hopefully I did all right.

We also got the scores of the seminar project I was bitching about Monday today. We got a 98/100, and that's without the 10 points extra credit. So, 108/100. Not bad.

VERONICA MARS TONIGHT. EEEE. :DDDDD I'm so excited. I couldn't be properly excited before because anytime I'd be like "OMG VERONICA MARS!" I'd instantly be "...oh, fuck, essay and unit test." But no more! Now, I can be all "OMG VERONICA MARS!" freely. :D

LULU. Ask about Serenity! I don't know if you did, but we didn't really have much time to talk today in class, so yeah. ASK IF YOU HAVEN'T. I checked the listings and there's one at the theater by Annie's house (Westpark? I think?) playing at like 7 PM, which I think would be good. Anyways. Let me know.

...VERONICA MARS! Can't be exclaimed about enough!

Well, thank god that's over. Don't have to worry about doing another seminar until February.

English unit test and essay tomorrow. ugh. Been dreading that since she announced it on like the third day of school. I have English fifth period (and tomorrow's block, so we have 1, office hours, 3, and 5) and it might sound nice to have it so late so I have time during the day to think things through more and have more time to plan and whatever, but when it's later in the day, then I just have more time to worry and obsess and I'd actually rather have it 1st than 5th. sigh. Oh well.

I finally remembered to bring Lulu my Arrested Development DVDs yesterday, so she watched the first two episodes, but she said she didn't find it that funny. >:O She's not really into comedies, though, so it actually doesn't surprise me very much. I mean, AD is a million times more hilarious than the typical comedy, but if you're not that into comedies then... you're not going to like it that much. I think she said she'd watch the rest of the season 1 DVDs, though. She needs to see Pier Pressure. And like a million others, but Pier Pressure especially.

Uh, what else? Veronica Mars premiere tomorrow! wheee! I can't wait!

Thank you everyone who filled out my poll! You guys are all so awesome. I love my friends list. :D By the way, Lulu ([livejournal.com profile] violetmist2003) wins at being my oldest friend at "238473284 to the infinity and beyond!" years. I think there's a chance she may have been exaggerating a bit, though.

I guess a week's worth of total insomnia finally caught up with me, because I went to bed at 11:15 and had fallen asleep by 12:15. I guess that sounds kind of long, but for me, 12:15 is early. Besides, I like to listen to Loveline from 11-12. So, falling asleep not long after Loveline ends is good. Of course, I woke up this morning just as the Bob Burnquist interview was ending. sigh. Not as bad as this one time last year, though. The creators of Wonderfalls were supposed to be on the morning show on KROQ and I think it must've been right after it was cancelled and I really wanted to listen to it, and it was during spring break so I actually would've been able to listen to it if I had woken up in time. So, I woke up (not sure what time) and I heard them come back from a break and say "The creators of Wonderfalls, next!" and I was like "OMG YES PERFECT TIMING!" And they put on a song, and I promptly fell asleep. I was so pissed off at myself for that the rest of the day.

Sometime during my nice, long sleep, I had this crazy-ass dream where I was at a Lakers game and Daniel Radcliffe (actor who plays Harry Potter in the HP movies) was playing point guard. He was so much shorter than everyone else playing, it was crazy. And there was this television on the wall and all of the sudden it started playing a short interview with Bob Burnquist. I forgot what he said, though. Oh, and at the same time as the Laker game, there were like... two courts in the place where they were playing, so there were a few random people playing basketball on the other court. I found that amusing during my dream, for some reason. Yeah. Anyways.

OMG X GAMES START TONIGHT! Hate being on the west coast, though, because it goes from 6-9 here, meaning that it starts during my SAT class. Stupid class. I have it set to record (I have no idea how I ever survived before I got a DVR player), but I still wish I could watch it as it starts. blah.

Taken from [livejournal.com profile] spike_buffy:
True Story: A religion teacher assigned her class an essay on what makes a good Christian. One student wrote about praying nightly, say no to abortion, banning gay marriage, and donating money. The other student wrote about talking to God and allowing people to enjoy their lives, and supporting gay marriage. The day the teacher was to hand the papers back, she called up the second student and told him she would pray for him when he went to hell. The student asked why would he be going to hell, and why he got an F on his paper. The teacher told him that Catholicism is against gay marriage. The student looked at her for a minute, then said aloud, "I'm gay." The teacher kicked him out of class as if he had said fuck or worshiped Satan. A girl in the back of class who had a boyfriend and was obviously straight got up and left too.

If you would leave the classroom, repost this. It doesn't matter if you're straight, bi, or gay. It doesn't matter if you're Catholic or not. Everyone is a human being and deserves happiness.
