Oct. 24th, 2005 04:35 pmSAT scores this morning! I got a 690 reading, which is 10 points higher than the highest score I got on the practice tests this summer, and I got a 690 writing, which is around the lowest writing scores I've gotten. The essay got an 8, so yeah, not as good as it could've been. But the math! I got an 800! How freaking insane is that?! So, overall, 2180! 70 points higher than my highest practice test this summer! Awesome. I'm so happy about that. Now I don't have to worry as much about retaking it. I'm satisfied with my score, but I may retake it just to see if I can boost up the writing, because I know I can do a lot better on it than I did. So yeah, anyways, there's a load off my mind.
Also got those essays on Canterbury Tales we wrote back on the day Veronica Mars premiered back. I got a 42.5/50, which is an 85! I'm so happy about that, you have no idea. And if that wasn't good enough, she sclaed the essays out of 45, so now my score is a 94, and that's enough to bring my grade up 6 percent to a 85! I'm so happy. :D I know my grade won't stay that high up, but at least it helps for now.
Nintendo Fusion Tour next Monday! I'm so excited. It should be awesome.
I think Prison Break is returning tonight? I thought it was next week, along with Arrested Development, but I saw a promo last night when I was watching a little bit of the Prison Break marathon that was on FX (like, 10 min of it, maybe), and it said it was coming back tonight. I should probably check on that.

Um, so I guess there's this scavenger hunt thing being planned for bandos on Monday. I was considering going, but then realized that I think we have another SAT diagnostic test on Monday, and the scavenger hunt thing starts at like... 2:30 or 3:00 and ends at 5 or 5:30, and the test would start at 4:00 (meaning I'd have to leave by at least 3:45). So, guess I'm not going. I don't mind too much, though. I don't know if I would've gone even if I was free.
Pre-ordered the Veronica Mars season 1 DVD on the Barnes and Noble website. Now I just need to persuade my mom to buy Arrested Development Season 2 on the same day. Should be easy enough, as both my parents adore the show and really want to see the second season.
I told my mom about the concert Oct. 31, and she said yes the second she heard it was at Bren Events Center. Woohoo! I talked to her about possibly having a lesson conflict, and she said she was already thinking of having no lessons during marching band because... that's a bit much (which I bitched to her about all of last marching season, but of course she didn't listen then). So I may not have to have lessons for an entire two months. This is very, very good news. :D Lulu, I told my mom to get a third ticket for you, so... you better go, or find someone else to. >:O Or I suppose I'd have to find someone else to. Oh well. Maybe Annie could go if you couldn't.
They played "Mixed Tape" by Jack's Mannequin, the side project of Andrew McMahon (lead singer of Something Corporate) on Catch of the Day on KROQ earlier. Wheee, I like it. I can't wait till their CD comes out. And the new SoCo CD, for that matter.

Jul. 27th, 2005 07:31 pmNintendo Fusion Tour thing with Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Starting Line October 31st at Bren Events Center (which is 5 minutes from my house). So perfect, but it's on a freaking Monday. [sigh] I don't know. I want to go so badly, but... it won't be easy. And I'll have to make sure my tenor lessons are on Tuesdays once school starts (though that's what I'd want anyways. Wednesday would be ideal, but I don't think he gives lessons Wednesdays, so it'd have to be Tuesday). Have to see. I'll bug my mom about it tonight.
Dead Like Me is taking far too long to download. sigh. I have no patience.
How is it that everytime I write an essay for SAT homework/tests and I use the Civil War as one of my examples, I come out sounding like I wish the South had won the war and that slavery hadn't been abolished? It's crazy. I totally don't think that at all, but somehow whenever I try to make my point about something, I come off sounding like that. ack.

Yeah. I go to a good number of concerts, but Warped Tour is my favorite every year. Can't wait until next year already. :D
Edit: Motion City Soundtrack will indeed be a part of this Fall's Nintendo Fusion tour featuring Fall Out Boy... Joining us as well on the bill will be our buddies in The Starting Line, plus Boys Night Out and Panic At The Disco.
[dies] Yeah. I must get tickets to this. God, I hope there'll be a show near me [i.e. closer than L.A.] and that it's on a Saturday since that's the best day for concerts, provided that I don't have a field show (for marching band) that die. But yeah. Must go to that show.
