Doctor Who )

I started looking at movies/TV shows/episodes/etc. of this decade so I'll have lists ready for when I actually have time to make picspams, and... haha. This is ridiculous. I think best movies and TV shows of the decade I could probably do, but episodes? This picspam would be like a thousand images large and would not be ready until like the next decade is over. I'm probably going to limit the number of episodes per show that can make it, but even with that... Oh well. It's just for fun, so who cares, right? Even if I won't be done with it by the time the year is done. And who knows if I'll ever end up posting this; I plan so many picspams that never even get started.

I have a huge urge to rewatch Chuck. I had this same urge at the end of last semester, but things were so busy so I was like "Once this semester is over, I will!" And then... I never did. But now I feel like rewatching it again. I'm so anxious for the new season. Now is not the best time to be trying to watch more TV, though. But I'm afraid that by the time I finally do have time, I won't feel like it anymore. I don't know. In October I did manage to get through 3 seasons of Greek and 1 season plus a handful of episodes of Fringe. And all of TBBT. So maybe I can manage.

I totally got nothing productive done this weekend. I did my German homework, which really isn't a hassle since it's just grammar, and I don't know. I enjoy learning German, so even if there are other things I'd rather be doing, I'd definitely rather do German homework than any of my other homework. I've just been kind of in a funk the past few days. Wednesday and Thursday I was actually feeling just really positive and amazing, and then Friday was just... not a good day at all. And my mood from that day seeped into Saturday and has seeped into today. I'll be fine in a few days, but I'm still kind of obsessing over something that upset me on Friday, and when I'm in this kind of mood, I just want to do absolutely nothing. I mean, really, I'm not even caught up on all new TV from last week despite having plenty of time to watch stuff.

On the plus side, I barely have anything major this week. School Update )

I had a meeting with everyone in my apartment earlier tonight and the subject of getting a cat came up and apparently the landlord is against cats because he thinks it would pee all over the carpet and ruin it, but one of my roommates is going to argue with him and see if we can like put a deposit down for the carpet and get a cat. I'm really, really hoping this works because I would love having a pet here. It would seriously make my life less stressful. The rest of the meeting was really great, actually. As I said, I haven't been in the best mood this weekend, but it was fun meeting with everyone (since everyone's so busy and so we're rarely all at home at the same time). My roommates are really awesome, I must say.

I'm finally caught up on TV! It only took forever. This isn't thoughts on everything I've watched, but just the stuff I had stuff to talk about.

Being Erica 2.03 )

Merlin 2.04 )

The Office 6.04 )

The Vampire Diaries 1.05 )

The Big Bang Theory 3.04 )

Greek 3.07 )

Gossip Girl 3.05 )

I luckily don't have too much work to do this week, at least in comparison to last week and the week before. The most major thing I have is a test in German on Friday, but I'm not too worried about it based on how I did on the first one and how I'm doing in the class. Discrete Math is still being a pain, but at least I don't have to stress out too much about my grade. It does really suck having to get up at 7 AM for a class I don't remotely enjoy, though. I should not have taken another 8 AM class after last semester. Last semester I was like "Never again!" and then I went ahead and signed up for another 8 AM class. Oh well. We're nearly to the halfway point in the semester, at least. I'll be very happy when this semester is over.

WAIT WAIT WAIT. MERLIN SEASON 2 IS PREMIERING THIS SATURDAY? IS THIS INFORMATION RIGHT? HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS? Oh man, it's been so long since season 1! I'm so excited! :D

I totally failed to mention that last weekend I read all of the Vampire Diaries books, and so now I have random thoughts about the show versus the books and about last night's episode. The Vampire Diaries )

I also watched the premiere of The Beautiful Life. The Beautiful Life 1.01 )

Even with the amount of complaining I did in my last post about the workload, I've decided to make it even worse. I'm probably going to be volunteering on Saturdays and maybe also Sundays from 9 AM to noon at this homeless shelter in St. Paul. I'd be reading, tutoring, and talking with kids, mostly. I enjoy tutoring and reading aloud and stuff like that, so I think it would be good. It's with the psych department here, so I will probably be able to go in a van with people, so transportation isn't an issue. And I should've volunteered or done something last summer, so this is to kind of make up for that so I can maybe get some sort of internship next semester or over the summer. I mean, it's not for sure yet since I've only just e-mailed the guy to express interest in it and he's e-mailed me back to give info. If I do start going, it'll probably be as soon as next week. I'm hoping since it's on Saturday and Sunday mornings that it won't cut into schoolwork time too much since I'd probably just be sleeping through most of that time anyways.

I haven't talked much about my living situation since school started, but things are going very well. I'm getting along with everyone, which is good, and I'm getting to know one of the girls who I hadn't met before moving in a lot better. Her workload is even more ridiculous than mine, though. She had a 6-page paper due last Monday plus a bunch of other smaller papers, and we haven't even been in school a week yet. Remind me not to double major in Chemistry and Biology. I think I might finally post pictures of the apartment this weekend, in addition to maybe finally posting pictures of my dorm room last year (for comparison to how much more amazing where I'm living this year is) and from my trip back home in May and back to Minnesota in August.

Yesterday during breakfast I burned my pinky finger when I accidentally ladled maple syrup onto it. wtf. I had no idea they kept it that hot. Stupid cafeteria. I feel like I'm very accident-prone. I mean, I don't get into loads of accidents, but I feel like all the accidents I get into are absolutely ridiculous. Like burning my finger on maple syrup. sigh.

Anyways, I was not very productive this weekend. My room is entirely cleaned, though! Well, except for my desk (I was just kind of lazy, but I'll do that soon. It's not like my whole desk - the top is entirely clean and organized - but the inside drawer where I keep all my pens/pencils/etc) and my bookshelf (I figured I'd wait until my mom sent my books because I'd just have to redo it anyways).

I spent the weekend (besides cleaning my room) reading a bunch of original fic and starting to watch the Legend of the Seeker. I think I like it so far (I've gotten through episode 8), but most importantly, omg prettiest show ever! Seriously, it is absolutely gorgeous. I saw caps of it and I thought it was just pretty because someone prettied up the caps, but now, it's an absolutely gorgeous show. I keep getting confused by the fact that everyone has American accents, and I feel like that's one of the reasons I'm not totally in love with it, which is kind of ridiculous. I mean, logically English wasn't even a language at the time it was set (or at least not in its current form), so it wouldn't make any more sense if they had English accents, but I seriously keep expecting everyone to have English accents. Even Australian would make more sense to me for some reason. My brain is weird. (Although I just checked and I know the show films in New Zealand and the only one of them who ISN'T from Australia or New Zealand is the actress who plays Kahlen, so I feel like they should just use their natural accents. Kind of like how Farscape was filmed in Australia and loads of the characters had Australian accents. Especially since a lot of the guest stars don't have the best American accents, so it just comes through as Australian anyways. And even the actor who plays Richard slips a fair amount). This also is making me really want to watch Merlin. Why is it so long until there are new episodes of Merlin? Not fair.

It's only the second week back and I already have a test on Friday. gah. At least it's just in German. But still, annoying. Especially since my books/DVDs should arrive this week and there's a lot of new TV this week. Seriously, I think there are more new episodes airing tonight (House, HIMYM, The Big Bang Theory, Heroes, Chuck, Gossip Girl) than all last week.

I can't believe that it's already February. This year just started! Anyways, to wrap-up January, I watched 16 movies (...I don't know how that's possible. I wasn't even TRYING to see that many movies. Last year I was trying for 150 for the whole year and I remember struggling to get to 12 in January so I'd be on track.), 234 episodes of TV (oh god, I knew I watched a lot of TV, but that's more than I expected. I think it's primarily due to mainlining 7 seasons of Scrubs in less than a week. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm missing some episodes in there. It's hard to keep track of everything.), and 1 book (ugh I'm failing at reading more! I'm almost surprised I got to 1 book. Over half the book I read in December, too. sigh). Anyway, I'm going to finish watching an episode of Legend of the Seeker, and then I have class.

I was going to keep watching movies until I got to 100 before I did anything else, but I only have 11 to go now, and I've been planning on starting Merlin since a few weeks before school got out and I was looking forward to it and I decided to start it now since it'll only take me a day or two to get through everything, and I have plenty of time to watch more movies. So I started watching Merlin last night. I just finished episode 5, and wow, people talked about how the show basically seems to ship Merlin/Arthur and I thought they were exaggerating, but they really, really weren't. The fourth episode especially was ridiculous in how shippy it was between the two. I also love that, so far, the dragon's response to any question Merlin asks is "ARTHUR IS YOUR DESTINY." It's pretty awesome. Anyways, I'm going to spend the rest of the day finishing the series and I might make a longer post about it once I'm done.

I'm still on Minnesota time and it sucks. I can't stay up past 11:30 (because that's like 1:30 there) and then I wake up at at like 8:30-9:00. Last night I tried to stay up until 1:30 this time so I'd be exhausted and actually sleep in some, and somehow I ended up waking up at 7:30. Fail.
